Still a few more weeks...

There are still a few more weeks of summer, and if you haven't read a book yet, it is time to start getting serious. Here are a couple more that I have read that you might be interested in:

Just Grace: This book was hilarious. I loved how Grace tells the story, and hope to read more of this series in the future. It is short and very interesting, so it would be a quick read.

The Mother/Daughter Book Club: This book is longer, and much more geared toward girls, but I loved it. 4 moms and their daughters, all who are very different, meet once a month to discuss Little Women. The story is told from the views of all 4 girls, and is sweet, funny and sometimes sad. There is also a second book out, so if you like it, you can read more about the characters.

Hope your summer is going great!

The Best Book I've Read So Far

I just finished reading The Invention of Hugo Cabret. It was wonderful! The illustrations made me feel like I was watching one of those silent black and white films, and made the story even more enjoyable. Don't be concerned if it looks really thick--like I was at first. The illustrations take up many pages, and some of the pages only have writing right in the middle.

If you haven't chosen a book yet, you might want to look at this one! Happy reading.

Adventure Book

At the recommendation of "animallover" I ran to the library and checked out the Molly Moon book. I found that I could not put it down! It was exciting, a true adventure.

Then I thought about the kinds of books that I liked and realized that I really liked books where there was an adventure. It seems that books with characters that are always on the brink of disaster really pull me in, and then I don't want to put them down.

Are you reading any good adventure books right now? If you are looking for one, I suggest the Molly Moon series.

Books I have read...

I have just finished reading The Secret of the Painted House. It is one of the books from the summer reading list, and it was delightful! It is also short for all of you page counters out there. I believe that you will find it suspenseful, and with a surprise twist in the middle. If you read it, tell me what you think.

Have you ever...

Have you ever started reading a book and found that you cannot put it down? That is happening to me right now! Tell me about your book experience--what book were you reading and why couldn't you put it down? I love the characters in the book I am reading, it is like they are real people and I really care about what happens to them. I think that is how you know you are reading a really good book, when you feel like you know the characters.
